From Rocking Speer Ranch:

“This is Moon. Moon is owned at boarded by Just Country Quarter Horses: Boarding, Training, Lessons & Horse Camp in Stoutland, Missouri. At the time of purchase in May 2022, Moon was severely under-run in the heels of the thoracic limbs. These heels prevented Moon from standing straight, causing discomfort throughout his limbs and trapping pockets of thrush under the rolled heel walls. Over the last year, Moon’s owner and farrier have been attempting to draw the heels back, without success using traditional steel shoes.

This past week working in concert; Cj Higgins and Rocking Speer Ranch, LLP Farrier Services were able to pull back the heels of the thoracic hooves in an effort to redirect the tubules in the heel so that they grow at the appropriate angle and prevent them from running under the hoof. As a result this left Moon’s hooves tender when walking on rocky surfaces. He was then outfitted with GluShus to provide comfort and protection for his soles and to stabilize the hoof wall as it grows out.

The application of these shoes have provided Moon with comfort and on opportunity to grow healthy heels. This is his first cycle with these shoes and we are expecting to see improvement in healthy heel growth over the next cycle.

Moon was started on Select The Best’s Nu-Hoof Maximizer to assist in the hoof growth as we continue correcting his heels and drawing back the toe.

Thanks Glushu and Select The Best. Your products make it possible for us to do what’s necessary to improve the quality of life for our horses!”
